Renaming and branding the mothership of a collection of companies can often add a layer of complex diplomacy on top of aligning the brand to multiple business strategies. It’s like a multi-layer branding cake that everyone has to like!

This manufacturing and supply group in the international electrical marketplace had some brand recognition challenges, not helped by the fact that their organisation name was the same as an industry certification scheme. So the task was to rename and relaunch the brand.

The group brand not only had to uniquely identify the group itself but also tell a story for all the individual companies within the group. The business objective was to create a name and a look that enabled the group to add further companies to the group through acquisition while remaining consistent with their individual brand looks and tones.

We explored and presented many new names to the client and took them on a journey of discovery to assess and question their aspirations when it came to how unique, bold, and standout they were comfortable with.

We delivered “Shoal Group” and supported the ongoing work of registering and protecting the brand. A group that is stronger together. Always moving as one.
